Old Bridge Municipal Utilities Authority (OBMUA) is proud to announce that it has received the Issac Welcome Collection Systems Award at the New Jersey Water Environment Association Conference recently held in May 2024. This award is given for contributions to the advancement of state-of-the-art operations in wastewater collection systems.
Under the financial oversite of current and past Commissioners of the Authority, the leadership of current and past Executive Directors and the implementation by current and past Sewer Division Superintendents the Authority has designed and implemented one of New Jerseys premier infrastructure management systems, a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA) that assists our staff in grid management, troubleshooting and safe operations of the Old Bridge wastewater system. Additionally, a Geographical Information System (GIS) has been developed that maps the location of all of the sewer mains, manholes and force main pipes within the Authority’s Wastewater Collection System and stores maintenance and repair history within a computer data base for use in future operation and maintenance.
Receiving this award has been a team effort over many years of hard work on such a vital system and essential service for our community.
